Two of the Most Comfortable Running Shoes

You can't run well if you're uncomfortable. Here are two shoes that promise superior comfort without sacrificing performance.

Nike Lunarglide - This is one of the most comfortable shoes I've run in. It has a secure fit around the heel and over the arch, and is spacious in the toe box. The upper materials feel soft and seamless on the inside. It has quite a bit of cushion for being so light weight, at 10.7 ounces for men's size 9 and 8.7 ounces for women's size 7. The shoe offers exceptional stability that only engages when you need it, so it is idea for both over pronators or neutral runners. Medium to light weight runners will receive adequate cushion and support for middle to long distances. Heavier runners should limit this shoe to middle and short distances. If you have flat feet the shoe might not provide enough support.

Puma Complete Vectana - Puma has made a name for itself ever since picking up athletes like Usain Bolt, the world's fastest man. Although the Vectana doesn't promise to make you as fast as him, it does promise an extremely comfortable ride. It has a thick layer of soft foam to cushion your feet on the longest of runs. Puma has also packed on extra cushion in the heel to absorb the initial impact at heel strike. With a fore foot that curves up, it provides the runner with a smooth heel to toe transition. It's not a very light shoe like the Lunarglide, but it's also not a very heavy shoe. It weighs 12.7 ounces in men's size 9 and 10.7 ounces in women's size 7. It has above average support, and is appropriate for moderate to severe over pronators. The shoe is best for medium to heavy build runners.
